We are currently finalising our 2024 programme, in the meantime, this is what we did in 2023:-
Tuesday, 7th March.
We visit Ashwood Nurseries to explore John’s Garden. This will be followed by lunch in the cafe and a guided Hellebore tour in the afternoon. The venue is Ashwood Nurseries, Ashwood Lower Lane, Kinver, Kingswinford DY6 0AE. The cost is £15 for GSBI members.
Tuesday, 27th June.
Our second visit is part of our 30th Anniversary celebrations, when we have a private visit to The Laskett, situated at Much Birch, Hereford. Set in the idyllic countryside of Herefordshire on the Welsh borders, these gardens are the creation of Sir Roy Strong CH and his late wife Julia Trevelyan Oman CBE. Created from a bare field in 1974, the gardens have continued to evolve ever since.
The visit will be followed by afternoon tea at The Pilgrims Hotel, just a couple of miles from the gardens. The cost of the whole afternoon including tea is £12 for GSBI members.
Tuesday, 5th September.
Afternoon Talk and Tea - “Ladies of the Porcelain” by Colin Millett. This fascinating talk will be held at the Museum of Royal Worcester, Severn St, Worcester WR1 2ND starting at 2.30pm.
